Biography ... About the photographer

We just love to photograph weddings! Weddings are people at their best - and we get to be almost a part of the family for that day.

As a husband and wife team we've "been there" ourselves. Together we help a bride's photography and wedding day to turn out great! It is an honor to assist on such a special day.

During college Doug worked as news photographer & photography editor in Los Angeles. He photographed celebrities almost every week, the highlight of which was getting to have lunch with comedian Steve Allen. (Steve Allen was like the Steve Martin of his era.)  In person Steve Allen was just a "normal" person and a committed Christian. Doug was not a believer at the time but had been astonished by this celebrity's complete lack of a Hollywood ego.

When Doug graduated UCLA with a bachelor of arts degree, he started working in Hollywood's motion picture industry. Today Doug works out of Northern California with career achievements in visual media, multi media, and information technology.

Learning under fire...

Some time ago Doug worked for a wedding photography studio, observing the successes and occasional catastrophes of other staff photographers. He learned to work under pressure (on ONE day he was assigned to photograph FOUR different weddings in two different counties...and succeeded!). And he learned what shortcuts NOT to take because they could result in failures.

When that studio closed Doug continued to photograph weddings independently. Today - two decades later, Doug is among the most experienced independent wedding photographers in Northern California.

Our style is easy going, we work well with people, we honor special requests, we keep cool under pressure, we carry backup equipment, and take pictures that come out great at every event.

And we look forward to the opportunity of serving you!

Style

Our style is 75% photojournalistic. That's so we don't monopolize all your time on the wedding day.

And 25% of our style is "classic" inspired to capture family members together in group photos.
Weddings are your best opportunity to get family portraits taken.

Expertise

Our technical mastery of photography gives us the confidence to produce pictures that turn out well every time, even when the unexpected happens.

Here's why that's a good thing for you, the bride or groom:

Digital cameras have made it easy for new photographers to enter the wedding photography field. Perhaps too easy. But if something goes wrong --- a camera malfunction, or difficult lighting --- will a less experienced shooter be able to deliver the quality you expect?

Our two decades of wedding experience means we have the skills to deliver high quality, reliable results under every circumstance.
